Recent research just published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine reveals that meals rich in bitter leaf have been authenticated as a novel panacea for skin blemishes, ageing and boosting immunity in people living with HIV/Aids.

Apparently, the aqueous extract of bitter leaf (vernonia amygdalina) could be used as adjuvant in the management of people living with HIV and for restoration of skin colour and form as well as calming and vitalizing the body. Scientists say that bitter leaf could serve as a nutritional supplement for patients in a HIV-infected or immuno-compromised condition such as cancer or diabetes.
