The Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria has commenced training of potential pilots in Minna, following the establishment of the satellite campus of the college six months ago in the Niger State capital.
A statement by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Mr Abdullahi Abdullah, explained that the training commenced with ground school studies in 2012 and the students are now ready to start flight training with small aircraft.
He appealed to the public not to panic at the sight of such aircraft which will hover around the major parts of the state capital from 8am to 4pm, noting that they bear no security risks to anybody but a normal training routine of the aviation students.
The statement also commended the state governor, Muazu Aliyu for ensuring that the campus of the aviation college is brought to Niger State. He urged unemployed youths to take advantage of the institution’s presence in the state to start a career in the aviation industry.
